About Tom Burns

Tom Burns is a PhD student from Deakin University, Melbourne. He moved to Australia from Scotland where he completed an undergraduate degree of Zoology at the University of Glasgow which allowed him the opportunity to work with amphibians and reptiles.

​

Some of his previous experience in the field includes working with leatherback turtles, looking at their thermal biology and nesting behaviour. His current PhD involves amphibian

conservation, specifically the impacts of amphibian chytrid fungus on Baw Baw frogs.
